The ReLATE/ReSPOND Tool Kits outline communication strategies that healthcare providers can use to build positive relationships with their patients/clients. They address how to establish rapport and how to respect the perspective of patients/clients and families while providing and explaining information in an empathetic way.
The ReLATE/ReSPOND Tool Kits contain a number educational materials that can be used in a variety of training situations, such as staff orientation, in-service presentations, and skill development workshops.
Two versions of the Tool Kit are available:
- The Acute Care Tool Kit uses ‘patient’ focused language
- The Community Care Tool Kit uses ‘client’ focused language
