Patient safety experts agree that effective teamwork skills are essential for safe, quality healthcare. The Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) is proud to offer TeamSTEPPS CanadaTM, which focuses on improving patient safety through the implementation of teamwork tools. As an honoured partner of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI), the HQCA is the only regional training centre for TeamSTEPPS Canada.
Organizations often try team-building exercises, which are energizing and valuable, but are quite different than investing in team training. TeamSTEPPS Canada offers participants the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to build and promote sustainable teamwork strategies that can be implemented successfully. In addition, participants are connected with a growing Canadian TeamSTEPPS Canada community to learn from and share best practices.
The two-day course is highly interactive. Participants learn the tools and skills that are the foundation of TeamSTEPPS Canada, but also create a plan for implementing TeamSTEPPS Canada in their organizations. This train-the-trainer format will motivate and foster the capacity and momentum.
Upon completion of the course, successful participants will obtain “master trainer” designation and will be offered the opportunity for one-on-one touch base sessions with the instructor to guide them towards success.
This course is of value to participants from ANY organization with a focus on healthcare. We recommend you send two or more participants to the course to ensure that outcomes can be sustainability implemented within your teams. However, individuals are also welcome to register.
The next course is scheduled for March 2020 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Cost: $550 Canadian/person including GST
Registration opens in January 2020.
