What we do
We promote and improve patient safety and health service quality across Alberta.
How we work
We gather and analyze information, monitor the healthcare system, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate that knowledge into practical improvements.
Our Team
Our strategy is to be a place that brings together and nurtures talented people who are committed to patient safety and quality improvement.
Resources for Albertans
For people looking for information on navigating the health system, filing a complaint, and more.
Voicing concerns about your healthcare experience
The HQCA is unable to review individual concerns or complaints. The Health Quality Council of Alberta Act is the legislation that establishes the HQCA’s mandate and focuses our work on identifying system-level improvements to healthcare across Alberta.
Patient feedback is a valuable source of information to the healthcare system for ongoing quality improvement, which is why we conduct patient experience surveys. It is also important that you have the opportunity to have your specific concerns addressed, and we want to help you find the right avenue.
