How The HQCA Works
The Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) is a provincial agency that brings an objective perspective to Alberta’s health system, pursuing opportunities to improve person-centred care, patient safety and health service quality for Albertans.
The HQCA Quick facts
Did you know...- Our responsibilities are outlined in the Health Quality Council of Alberta Act.
- The HQCA team includes a Patient and Family Advisory Committee – members of the public who provide an Albertan’s perspective to the HQCA’s work.
- We survey Albertans about their experiences with healthcare delivery, then we share our findings.
- We help health professionals work toward improvement in health service quality and patient safety.
Programs & Resources
While the HQCA’s responsibilities are set forth in the Health Quality Council of Alberta Act, our work is guided by a Strategic View, which highlights our Vision, Mission, and Values and defines four strategic areas of focus. By aligning ongoing and future projects to this Strategic Framework, we will continue to support our partners in improving person-centred care, health system quality and patient safety for Albertans.
