Long Term Care Resident & Family Experience Surveys

In 2007 and 2008, the HQCA surveyed 3,415 nursing home residents and 7,943 family members about their experiences at over 170 long term care facilities throughout Alberta.

This is the first provincial survey of its kind undertaken in Alberta. It establishes a baseline for measuring and monitoring long term care initiatives to improve quality and provides Alberta Health Services, long term care operations and management, direct care providers, health professionals and Alberta Health and Wellness with information needed to improve the quality of long term care.
